After 3 relaxing days at sea including crossing the International Dateline, we visited the enchanting islands of Papeete, Tahiti; Moorea, and Bora Bora, French Polynesia, where we found giant curls of turquoise water breaking onto the colorful reefs that protect the tranquil lagoons of warm, bright emerald waters and white coral sand beaches.
Two days into our next 5 relaxing days at sea en route Hawaii, we witnessed an exciting and unexpected rescue at sea after crossing the equator as our ship’s captain directed the successful efforts to save two sailors who whose sailboat had struck a coral reef.
We then continued on to to enjoy the lush green landscapes at Maui, Hawaii. This adventure ended in Honolulu, Oahu, for some in our group. Others stayed on the ship to enjoy visiting Maui again, Kailua Kona and Hilo on the big island of Hawaii before sailing to Vancouver, British Columbia, and returning home.
